Successful preparation for the road first aid examination
Knowledge of road first aid is not only an important step in obtaining a driver’s license, but also a skill that may be needed at any time in everyday traffic. In a traffic accident, the first minutes are especially critical: the quick and correct decisions of those present at the scene can significantly influence the condition of the injured and the success of further medical care.
Our training aims not only to prepare participants for the exam, but also to provide practical first aid knowledge that can be used more confidently in real accident situations.
The training prepares participants for the road first aid examination organized by the Hungarian Red Cross. It is important that the exam itself is organized by the Hungarian Red Cross, while our course supports the acquisition of the theoretical and practical knowledge required for successful completion.
Most people do not fail to help because they do not want to, but because they are afraid of making mistakes. However, the biggest mistake is doing nothing. The goal of our training is to transform this uncertainty into confident, practical knowledge that can be applied in real situations.

Traffic accidents are unfortunately still common. Based on KSH traffic accident statistics, there were several thousand personal injury road traffic accidents in Hungary in 2024, meaning that knowledge of road first aid is not a theoretical issue, but a real everyday necessity.
At an accident scene, professional help does not always arrive immediately. Until the ambulance arrives, those on site can take the first important steps: securing the scene, calling for help, assessing the condition of the injured, recognizing life-threatening conditions, and providing basic first aid if necessary.
Road first aid is also especially important because providing assistance is not only a human responsibility, but also a legal and moral obligation. The training helps ensure that in an unexpected accident situation, decisions are not driven by panic or uncertainty, but by preparedness.
What does the training include?
Our training supports preparation for the road first aid exam while also providing usable, practical knowledge. The curriculum is aligned with official exam requirements, so participants learn and practice topics that are important both for the exam and real-life situations.
Main topics
Accident scene recognition and safe approach
Participants learn how to safely approach a road accident scene, what to consider to protect their own and others’ safety, and how to prevent further accidents.
Scene safety and calling for help
We discuss the role of hazard lights, warning triangles, reflective vests, and other safety measures, as well as how to effectively call for emergency assistance.
Patient assessment and condition evaluation
Participants learn how to assess responsiveness, breathing, and general condition of the injured person, and how to recognize situations requiring immediate intervention.
Unconsciousness and recovery position
Participants learn what to do when a victim is unconscious but breathing, and how to correctly perform the recovery (stable side) position.
Basics of resuscitation
The training covers the basic steps of resuscitation, the role of chest compressions, and when to immediately start life-saving interventions.
Bleeding and injury management
We cover common injuries at road accidents, bleeding, wounds, suspected fractures, burns, and other types of injuries.
Helmeted casualty management
Special focus is given to handling motorcyclists or cyclists wearing helmets, and when and how intervention is allowed.
Targeted exam preparation
Participants learn the key practical and theoretical elements required for the road first aid exam to increase confidence before the examination board.

In-person, on-site and online preparation options
Road first aid skills are best acquired through practical, in-person training, so we primarily recommend classroom-based courses for exam candidates.
However, for those who cannot attend in person or prefer to prepare at their own pace from home, we also offer online e-learning materials. The online course includes video and written content to support exam preparation and allows participants to review key topics multiple times.
It is important to note that while the online material supports preparation, in-person practice is still highly recommended for acquiring practical skills and achieving confident exam performance.
